Galveston features Outdoor or covered parking and does guarantee parking for all cruise passengers. Proximity to the cruise terminals, free shuttles to the cruise terminals from Galveston's official parking lots, result in rates that are are generally quite competitive.
How Much Does it Cost to Park at Galveston?
For 4 day cruises, outdoor parking costs about $45.00. Five day cruise parking costs about $50.00, and for 7 day cruises it's about $70.00 for uncovered parking, and approximately $80.00 for covered parking. It's important to remember that covered parking is on a first come, first serve basis. You can receive a $5.00 parking discount when you prepay for outdoor parking with a Mastercard, Visa, or Discover card. Otherwise, cash, Travelers Checks, and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover) are accepted. These rates apply for vehicles up to 8 1/2' by 18'. Vehicles larger than this pay double the fee.
For groups, prepaying 10 days in advance for 10 cars translates into a $10.00 per vehicle savings.
Parking is free at the Galveston cruise terminal for disabled Veterans, and for Purple Heart Recipients with picture ID (DD214, Dept. of Veteran's Affairs Service connected ID card, or Vehicle Registration with Disabled Veteran, or Purple Heart designation). One free parking space is also available for Travel Agents with a valid unexpired IATA, or CLIA card and picture ID. These free parking arrangements are established when you park your vehicle, but not after the fact. There are no refunds granted. (updated October 2010)

If you are arriving by car the night before your cruise, several of the hotels in the area may let you leave your car in their lot while you cruise. However, you will need to stay at least one night before your cruise – look for "Park 'n Stay" rates advertised by the hotel. These hotels usually have a shuttle to take you to and from the cruise port.
